R.J. has spent his career helping businesses grow profitably, scaling teams, and driving extraordinary revenue growth. From his first summer job to executive leadership and beyond, he has built a reputation for helping create high-performing organizations and delivering measurable results.
Early Beginnings and Entrepreneurial Drive
R.J.'s journey began as a college student starting and running a business selling books door-to-door during the summer to pay for his education. In his first summer, he became a top salesperson, earning over $8,000 in 8 weeks in 1986. Recognizing the power of leadership, he recruited a team of 15 students the following school year to sell with his next summer. By his fifth summer, he had now recruited and was leading over 50 students, consistently ranking as one of the top leaders and personal salespeople, representing the publishing company. Paying his way through school, he managed everything from recruitment and training to inventory and finances, developing an early foundation for business operations and leadership.
Scaling Success in Executive Consulting
After college, R.J. joined a custom clothing company, where he quickly rose through the ranks from salesperson to Regional Vice President and significant stock shareholder. Leading one of the top-performing offices globally, his team contributed to growing the company from under $100 million in revenue to over 100 offices doing nearly $400 million in revenue. The company became the largest vertically integrated company of its kind in the world, serving busy executives, entrepreneurs, lawyers. doctors, pro athletes, etc. After 20 years and over $60 million in production, he retired from that industry to launch Expert Edge Business Coaching, leveraging his experiences to guide individuals and businesses to higher profitability and growth.
Building a Digital Marketing Powerhouse
A promising startup, RevLocal, became his top coaching client and offered him an opportunity to join in-house with an ownership stake. At the time, RevLocal was a small digital marketing agency in Central Ohio with just 10 employees and a little over 100 clients. Over nearly 13 years, R.J. played a key role as a top regional leader and producer, launching markets nationally and helping the company to hire and train hundreds of consultants, grow to over 400 total employees and nearly 7,000 clients nationwide. In Fall of 2024, the company achieved a successful acquisition by one of the largest players in the SMB digital marketing space. At the time of acquisition, after retiring from 35 years of leadership a couple years prior, RJ had been the #1 Consultant for the last two years running, all the while, still business coaching and leading other small businesses and non profits, in his free time.

Personal Info
R.J. and his wife of 34 years live in Central Ohio, USA. They have 3 grown daughters, with 2 sons-in-law and 2 granddaughters that are their pride and joy. They are active in their church and community and love watching collegiate and professional sports, especially their National Champion Ohio State Buckeye Football and Wrestling Teams and the Columbus Blue Jackets and Cincinnati Reds. R.J. is also an avid reader, knocking out 2-3 books a month and is a practicing martial artist, holding colored belts in Shotokan Karate and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, training at Gracie Ohio in Westerville.
